The Circulatory System
The circulatory system provides the means to transport nourishment to the body cells and remove waste materials from the body. It works with the respiratory system to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. It can prevent excessive bleeding and even fights infection. It is another means of regulating body temperature. This lesson will study the physiology of the heart and trace the flow of blood through the heart, into the body, and back to the heart. The anatomy and physiology of the systems within the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, and the blood are also are also discussed.
